- We don't know who you are. The app never asks for your name, email, or any personal information. You're assigned a random anonymous ID.
- Location is optional. If you grant permission, we send it to a third-party provider to find nearby stations — we never store it. You can also search by address without sharing your location at all.
- Your car build data is yours. It lives on your device and in your private iCloud — we have zero access to it.
- Station reports are stored on our servers. If you report a station issue, we keep that report along with your anonymous ID.
- We do not sell or share your data for advertising. Ever.
- You can request deletion. Email us and we'll delete your account and associated data.
MirzaWorks LLC built the RaceTools app as a free application with an optional subscription. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By downloading or using RaceTools, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to both, do not use the app. We will not use or share your information except as described in this policy. MirzaWorks LLC is the data controller for personal data collected through RaceTools for the purposes of GDPR and UK GDPR.
Information We Collect
Location Data
When you use the E85 Fuel Locator, the app may request access to your device's precise location to identify nearby E85 fuel stations. Your location is transmitted to a third-party fuel station data provider to return station results — the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR, formerly NREL) for US locations, and the French government open data platform (data.economie.gouv.fr) for French locations. MirzaWorks does not store or log your location on any server. We cannot speak to how these providers process location data on their end; please review their privacy policies independently.
Location data is used to find nearby E85 stations and display distance information. You may also search for stations by entering an address manually, in which case precise device location is not accessed.
You can manage or revoke location permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → RaceTools. Revoking location access will disable GPS-based station lookup and CarPlay features, but address-based search will continue to work.
When you use the E85 Locator via Apple CarPlay, the app accesses your location while the CarPlay session is active. CarPlay requires background location access, which is a more elevated permission than standard "While Using the App" access. This permission is used solely to keep the station map current while the CarPlay interface is displayed on your vehicle's screen. It is not used to track your location at any other time.
Anonymous Identifier
When you first launch the app, Firebase Authentication (a Google service) generates a unique anonymous identifier for your session via an anonymous sign-in. This identifier contains no personal information — no name, email address, or device identity is collected. It is used solely to associate your subscription status and station report history with your session, and is shared with our subscription management provider for that purpose. This identifier is retained for as long as you use the app and is deleted from our systems within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
Push Notification Token
The app may receive push notifications (for example, service announcements or feature alerts). To deliver these, Apple assigns your device a push notification token managed by Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). This token is shared with Firebase to route notification delivery. It does not identify you personally. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → RaceTools.
User-Submitted Station Reports
If you choose to submit a report about a fuel station (for example, to flag incorrect hours or unavailable E85), the following information is stored on our servers:
- The station identifier and address
- Your selected report reason and any optional comments you provide
- Your anonymous identifier
- The date and time of the report
You should not include personal information about yourself or others in station reports.
We retain station reports and associated identifiers for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain data quality and moderate submissions. Diagnostic and analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time as described in the Your Data Rights section below.
Data We Do Not Collect
- Car Build Tracker data: Your vehicle and modification data is stored on your device and synced to your private iCloud account. MirzaWorks LLC has no access to this data at any time — it is entirely within your Apple ID's control.
- Calculator data: The Ethanol Calculator and Tire Comparison Calculator perform all computations locally on your device. No inputs or results are transmitted to or stored by MirzaWorks.
- Payment details: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. MirzaWorks never receives your card number, billing address, or any payment method details.
- Personal identity: RaceTools does not require you to create an account or provide a name, email address, or any personally identifying information.
Diagnostics & Analytics
We collect certain technical data to maintain and improve the app:
- Crash reports: When the app encounters an error, we collect device model, operating system version, app version, error trace, and timestamp. No personal identity is attached.
- Performance data: Network request timings and app responsiveness metrics are collected to identify and address performance issues.
- Usage analytics: Screen views, feature usage patterns, and in-app events are collected to understand how the app is used. This includes search queries you enter (such as city names or addresses when searching for E85 stations), which are sent to Firebase Analytics as event parameters. These events are associated with a pseudo-anonymous Analytics identifier, not your name or email address.
You can limit the diagnostic and analytics data shared with app developers by going to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements and disabling "Share with App Developers."
Feedback Submissions
If you choose to submit feedback through the app, the following information is stored on our servers:
- Your selected feedback category
- Any free-text content you enter
- Your anonymous identifier
- A server-generated timestamp
You should not include personal information in feedback submissions. Feedback data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to address and improve the app.
Subscription Data
RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements for RaceTools Premium. RevenueCat receives your anonymous identifier, purchase history, and entitlement status. MirzaWorks receives only whether your subscription is active or inactive — not payment details. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services, each of which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:
Firebase In-App Messaging
We use Firebase In-App Messaging (FIAM) to deliver announcements and feature highlights within the app. FIAM may collect your Firebase Installation ID and related device identifiers to determine message eligibility and delivery. This data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
Firebase Remote Config
We use Firebase Remote Config to manage app features and configuration remotely. Remote Config contacts Google's servers to fetch configuration values and may collect your Firebase Installation ID in the process. No personal information is transmitted. This data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
International Data Transfers
Google LLC (Firebase) and RevenueCat, Inc. are based in the United States. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. Both Google LLC and RevenueCat participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequacy mechanism recognised by the European Commission for transfers of personal data from the EEA to the US. UK transfers are covered by equivalent arrangements under the UK Extension to the DPF.
Legal Basis for Processing
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process personal data under the following legal bases as defined by GDPR Article 6:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Location data is processed only when you explicitly grant location permission via the iOS system prompt. You may withdraw consent at any time by revoking location access in iOS Settings.
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): Your anonymous identifier and subscription entitlement data are processed to deliver the services you have subscribed to.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Crash reports, performance metrics, usage analytics, station reports, Firebase Installation IDs, and Firebase In-App Messaging data are processed to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. We have assessed that these legitimate interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you have the right to object — see Your Data Rights below.
We do not engage in solely automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you, as described in GDPR Article 22.
Security
We take the security of your information seriously. The app uses Apple App Attest — Apple's device integrity verification service — to help ensure that requests originate from authentic RaceTools app instances and to prevent unauthorized access. App Attest contacts Apple's servers to verify device integrity; this process is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
Children's Privacy
RaceTools is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information through the app, please contact us at racetools.support@mirzaworks.com and we will promptly delete it.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the minimum age of digital consent may be higher than 13 in your country — 16 in Germany and Romania, 15 in France and Greece, 14 in Spain, and 13 in Denmark, Portugal, and Sweden. If you are below the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, please review this policy with a parent or guardian before using the app.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold associated with your anonymous identifier, along with information about how it is processed (GDPR Art. 15 / CCPA right to know).
- Right to deletion: You may request deletion of your anonymous account and any associated station reports stored on our servers by emailing racetools.support@mirzaworks.com. An in-app account deletion feature is planned for a future release. We may decline deletion where retention is required by law, necessary to complete a pending transaction, or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Right to correction: You may request correction of inaccurate data we hold about you.
- Right to restrict processing: You may request that we restrict processing of your data while a dispute about its accuracy or our lawful basis is being resolved.
- Right to object: You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing is necessary for legal claims.
- Right to data portability: Where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means, you may request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format (GDPR Art. 20).
- Right to lodge a complaint: If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority at any time. A list of EU supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns before you approach a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at racetools.support@mirzaworks.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days for GDPR and UK GDPR requests, and within 45 days for CCPA and other applicable US state privacy law requests. We may extend the GDPR response period by up to two additional months for complex or numerous requests and will notify you of any extension within the initial 30-day period. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their data rights.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or any commercial purpose, and we never have.
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, all of the rights listed above apply to you under GDPR or UK GDPR. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at racetools.support@mirzaworks.com.
Residents of certain US states — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon — may have similar rights under applicable state privacy laws, including the right to know, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We extend these rights to all users to the extent required by applicable law.
Car Build Tracker data is stored in your private iCloud account. To delete it, remove the data from within the app or manage your iCloud storage through your device's Settings — this data is outside MirzaWorks' control.
